The Pig Piglet Shad is an addition to The Pig family. This 8.5 cm long soft bait is primarily designed for jig fishing for perch but is far from a "reyellowar" soft bait. It has many prominent and outstanding features that make it special. Piglet Shad is molded in rubber of two different densities where the lower half of the bait is salt-impregnated. Salt sinks faster, causing Piglet Shad to sink belly first and have a more stable movement in the water. The paddle tail on Piglet Shad gives the bait a subtle "bellyflash." If you prefer a more stable, gliding movement without "bellyflash," trim the tail at the top and bottom with scissors. It also has a swimming action created by the jointed section in the tail part. Piglet Shad is grooved on both the back and belly for easy rigging and more effective hooking with an offset hook for Texas and Carolina rigging. A size 3/0 offset hook fits perfectly. Piglet Shad can be used with a traditional jig head, and we recommend hook sizes 4/0 or 5/0. Piglet Shad is manufactured in an environmentally friendly production with minimal ecological footprint. The PVC plastic used is odorless and free from phthalates.

Hook size is denoted by a number. The higher the number, the smaller the hook. Size 30 is a tiny hook, 4 is significantly larger. If there’s a zero after, e.g., 2/0, it’s even bigger. The higher the number before the zero, the larger the hook. We have a range from the smallest hook, size 30, to our largest, 18/0.
