Buy Vertical Jigging Rod

Vertical jigging rods are developed for the very exciting technique of vertical fishing targeting species like mainly zander, char, pike, and perch. In vertical fishing, you do not cast the lure but rather drop it straight down from the boat. Even though it is possible to vertical fish from, for example, docks, a boat is more or less a prerequisite for effective vertical fishing. Using a fishfinder will also make your vertical fishing much more effective as you can directly target the fish.

Choosing the Right Vertical Jigging Rod

Vertical jigging rods are usually between 6-7' long and should have a tip action with a lot of backbone. With a sensitive rod tip, you can see and feel the slightest nibble on the bait while the backbone allows you to hook the fish properly. Since this fishing is often done for zander and not infrequently over quite deep waters, it is important that the rod can handle strong strikes as zander are known for their hard mouths. Since you do not cast the lures in vertical fishing, the casting weight is not crucial when it comes to choosing a rod. However, it should be seen as an indication of which lures suit the rod best. Many also prefer to use quite heavy jig heads to quickly get the jig to the desired depth, something that is good to consider when choosing a rod.

In our range of vertical jigging rods, you will find very cost-effective rods for the experienced angler but also affordable high-quality vertical jigging rods that are perfect for those who want to try this exciting method!
