Shimano Curado spinning rod

Description
The Shimano Curado rod series is excellent for light and medium-sized lures, and you will find it hard to find a better rod in the mid-price range when it comes to casting accuracy and surprisingly powerful fish handling.

The rods are available for both spinning and baitcasting reels, so you can choose according to your preference. The Curado truly delivers beyond its weight in terms of performance and value, with really nice actions.

The key to the Curado's fantastic casting performance lies in the Full Carbon Hi-Power X carbon fiber blanks. This exclusive Shimano carbon fiber technology, previously only used on our highest specification rods, minimizes twisting in the blank during casting. You will also notice how it enhances the responsive nature of the action when fighting fish in tight situations where superior control is required.

The Curado is equipped with a super-light Shimano Ci4+ carbon fiber reel seat. It also features Fuji Fazlite guides and a split EVA handle. The combination of these components, along with the sleek graphics, creates a rod that you will be proud to own and use.

While you can certainly use this fantastic rod for pike fishing, especially in the larger sizes, its real value shines when fishing for zander and perch, which are not unlike black bass in their behavior. Casting a lure close to a bridge piling, under an overhanging tree, or inches from a reed bed becomes natural with the Curado. And when you hook a fish, you can utilize the full action of the rod to take control and steer the situation.

The choice of a spinning rod is usually determined by casting weight and rod length. Casting weight is the manufacturer’s recommendation for how heavy lures you can fish with. Rod length is often measured in feet (1’ = 30.48 cm). For lighter fishing, like perch or trout, a rod with a casting weight of 5-15g and a length up to 7’ is recommended. For all-round fishing, such as perch, zander, or sea trout, a rod with a casting weight of 10-40g and a length around 7-9’ is ideal.
