Savage Gear Furion spinning rod

Description

If you refuse to settle for anything less than the very best, the choice is simple Savage Gear Furion. When this unique rod was developed, the goal was to create the absolute best possible spinning rod without any compromises, regardless of cost.

The rod series is a Danish collaboration between some of the country's most skilled coastal anglers and Savage Gear, a world-leading brand in sport fishing that was established in the early 2000s.

It started with developing a blank, combining two different "high end" carbon fibers to achieve desired characteristics. Toray 46T provides the lower part with a controlled parabolic action, while Toray 54T carbon fiber gives the tip precision and aids in long casts. Only the very best components were then selected, such as Fuji Titanium K-guides, a Fuji custom-made KPDS reel seat, and the highest quality cork.

The result is fantastic; we dare say that this is one of the world's best spinning rods – a rod that makes a difference for you in your fishing.

We have chosen to bring in three models that are excellent for Swedish conditions, both along the coast and at sea.

  • Furion 8'1" 8-24 g 2-piece - 122 g: 8'1" is perfect for those who fish with lighter lures, weighing between 8-24 grams. This rod also works well for light spinning from a boat due to its shorter length.
  • Furion 10'1" 9-33 g 2-piece – 162 g: Here is the coastal cannon – a rod designed for those who want to cast really far!
  • Furion 9'6" 8-31 g 4-piece - 155 g: An incredibly popular 4-piece model with the same action as the 2-piece models. Here you get a true "high end" rod that is easy to pack into both a car and a suitcase.

The choice of a spinning rod is usually determined by casting weight and rod length. Casting weight is the manufacturer’s recommendation for how heavy lures you can fish with. Rod length is often measured in feet (1’ = 30.48 cm). For lighter fishing, like perch or trout, a rod with a casting weight of 5-15g and a length up to 7’ is recommended. For all-round fishing, such as perch, zander, or sea trout, a rod with a casting weight of 10-40g and a length around 7-9’ is ideal.
