Here you will find various brands and lengths of cost-effective fishing rods.
For most, the fishing career starts with simple angling from a pier. Then angling can be refined and developed indefinitely, but if you want to keep it simple and ignite a passion for fishing in someone new to it - get a fishing rod and start fishing! For a small amount, you get a rod that both the young and old can handle and enjoy greatly.
For regular fishing with a casting rod, you can easily group the lengths like this:
5-6 feet - Children/juniors 6-7 feet - Easy to handle - Perfect for boats. 7-9 feet - Most popular, especially for fishing from shore. 9+ feet - Coastal fishing and river fishing, etc.
Here, we’ve categorized the products based on which fish you want to hook. We’ve relied on what manufacturers specify, but also on experience of what usually works. The list could almost be endless, and many things work for more species than we’ve listed, so don’t be afraid to experiment.

Rod length when transported
Refers to how many centimeters long the disassembled rod is. This can be good to know if you’re traveling or packing it into a motorcycle bag.
Fishing with a rod is our most classic fishing method, and fishing off a dock with an older relative and your own rods has been the starting point for many fishing careers. Starting to fish with a rod is very simple and all you need to get started is a fishing rod with a line and some worms. However, for the avid angler, rod fishing offers incredibly many exciting challenges and a plethora of fishing gear needed to cover all fishing situations.
Buying a Fishing Rod
To start rod fishing, a telescopic fishing rod between 3-5 meters is perfect. For children or if you fish in smaller waters like streams or rivers, a 3-meter rod is a good choice. Otherwise, a length of 4-5 meters is the most common purchase. These fishing rods are available very cheap and work perfectly for typical rod fishing for species like perch. Double-check when purchasing whether a line is included or if it needs to be bought separately. If you buy a line, you should choose one that is approximately the same length as the rod. Another tip is to buy extra hooks as these are easily lost or become dull after a few fishing trips. For the more advanced rod fisher, there are several fishing rods that are specialized for specific species or fishing situations.
