With a casting rod, you fish using a multiplier reel or an enclosed reel. The reel is mounted on top of the rod, and a trigger on the underside of the reel seat provides better stability and grip during fishing. Casting rods are especially popular for heavier fishing, like pike, but have recently gained popularity for lighter fishing too. The casting weight of the rod determines which type of fishing it’s suited for.
